Healing through Yoga, One Breath at a Time.
Meet Heather
Heather Matthews is a dedicated and passionate yoga instructor, holding certifications as a 200-hour Yoga Teacher from Laughing River Yoga and a 300-hour Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Heather is currently working towards her 800-hour Yoga Therapist Certification. Her journey into the world of yoga began when her children were young, and she sought a form of exercise she could practice at home. However, what started as a means of physical fitness evolved into something much deeper and more profound.
As Heather continued her personal yoga practice, she began to notice subtle changes within herself that extended beyond the physical benefits. Yoga became a source of solace, healing, and transformation in her life. It was during this transformative period that Heather's curiosity about the power of yoga was sparked. She delved into the study of yoga and its impact on her emotional and mental well-being.
Heather's personal experiences led her on a quest to understand the therapeutic aspects of yoga more deeply. It was during her 200-hour yoga teacher training that she had a pivotal moment when one of her instructors conducted a workshop on healing the koshas – the subtle layers of the human being. At the conclusion of the workshop, the instructor mentioned that this type of work was essentially yoga therapy. This declaration was like a beacon of light for Heather, illuminating her path and revealing her true purpose.
With an unwavering conviction and a profound understanding of the therapeutic benefits of yoga, Heather embarked on her mission to share this healing practice with others. She believes in the transformative power of yoga therapy, as she has personally witnessed its profound effects on her own journey towards healing from conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Heather Matthews is dedicated to helping others discover the immense potential for healing and growth that lies within the practice of therapeutic yoga. Her personal journey and commitment to this path make her a compassionate and knowledgeable guide for those seeking solace, balance, and holistic well-being through yoga. Heather's teaching is infused with empathy, wisdom, and a genuine desire to help others experience the transformative power of therapeutic yoga practice firsthand.
